Dr Seetha

Program Advisor - Space Technology

As one of the most renowned scientists in her field, Dr. Seetha holds a PhD in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and completed her M.Sc. in Physics from IIT, Madras. Currently, she is an emeritus scientist at the Raman Research Institute, Bangalore. Additionally, Dr. Seetha has served as the Director of the Space Science programs Office at ISRO’s headquarters, where she coordinated all of ISRO’s space science activities. She also served as the principal investigator for AstroSat, the first dedicated space astronomy mission. She is passionate about astronomy, particularly the study of variable stars in the x-ray and optical bands. Her contributions to the development of space science instrumentation for Indian science payloads are extensive, allowing her to have achieved numerous awards, including the C.V. Raman Young Scientist Award in Physical Science (2003), the Best Woman Scientist Award from the Astronautical Society of India (2012), and the Member of Team Excellence Award from the Indian Space Research Organisation for the AstroSat Mission’ (2015).

Dr Vijayakumar Varadarajan

Program Leader- Engineering

Dr. Vijayakumar Varadarajan is a dedicated computer scientist and engineer with a PhD and 20 years of experience in education at national and international levels. He has also amassed knowledge through his managerial experience at various industries and organisations by focusing on the innovations of the future. Dr. Varadarajan also has the skills to grow, design, and execute effective strategies to achieve an organization’s goal. He believes in cultivating a positive environment for internal and external collaborations in order for an organisation to thrive and succeed. He also has nine different patents to his name. With a long list of diverse accolades, Dr. Varadarajan has received numerous awards and recognitions from various international institutions and organisations for his exemplary career. To name a few, he’s been an adjunct professor at the University of New South Wales and even a professor and associate dean at VIT University in Chennai.

Piet Kommers

Program Advisor - Computer Science

Dr. Piet Kommers, is a pioneer in media education and leader of NATO Advanced Research Workshops on Cognitive Learning Tools. A Ph.D holder in Conceptual Representa¬tions for Adaptive Education at the University of Twente, he has taught more than fifteen bachelors, masters and PhD courses and supervised more than 30 Ph.D. students. Piet Kommers is the initiator of the international journal for web-based communities and overall chair of the IADIS conferences on societal applications of ICT. He has written books and various journals addressing the shift from “traditional” into the “new” media. He has designed various workshop templates and experiences have been implemented into the UNESCO IITE reports, policy briefings and Master Course He has various achievements to his name such as receiving the academic award for innovative ‘Experimental Design’, and was offered a research position in collaborative group problem solving wherein he designed the ‘Concise Urban Planning Task’. Dr. Kommers has built a strong work ethic and has the ability to lead teams efficiently.

Fernando G. Tinetti

Program Advisor - Computer Science

Fernando G Tinetti, currently a Professor of Facultad de Informatica at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. His scope of interests and expertise include Computer Organization, Distributed Programming, and handling Computability and Complexity projects. He earned his Ph.D in the year 2004, with the specialization in Computer Science from the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain. Professor Tinetti has been also the co-editor of the Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JCS&T) from 2004-2015.He has led many research teams in key areas like High performance computing, parallel and distributed computing, cluster computing, IoT, real-time processing and robotics. He has been a valuable member of the IASTED (International Association of Science and Technology for Development) and was part of the Technical Committee on Parallel & Distributed Computing systems. Professor Tinetti has an extensive list of publications where he has authored and co-authored more than 20 different books.

Paul Szymanski

Program Advisor – Space Technology

Mr. Szymanski has extensive experience in all fields related to space control: policy, strategy, simulations, surveillance, survivability, threat assessment, long-range strategic planning, and command and control. In addition, he has a comprehensive experience base, having worked directly with multiple services (Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines), civilian agencies (NASA, DARPA, and FEMA), and from the Pentagon (Secretary of the Air Force) to systems development (Space and Missile Systems Centre), technology development (Air Force Research Lab), and operational field testing (China Lake Naval Test Centre). This gives him a unique perspective on understanding the divergent issues associated with each step of the DOD procurement process.

Dr. Jyoti Singh

Program Leader - Space Technology

Dr. Jyoti Singh is a seasoned academic with over 27 years of teaching experience in the field of Physics. With a diverse background in academia, Dr. Singh has served in numerous committees and played an instrumental role in shaping the educational landscape at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Her passion for education is reflected in her dedication to introduce new courses and launch cutting-edge programs, such as the “Introduction to Astronomy” course and the Master of Science degree with a specialization in Astrophysics.
In addition to her impressive career at St. Xavier’s College, Dr. Singh has a rich background in research, having worked at Trieste University, the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA’s GSFC. With a PhD from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Mumbai, Dr. Singh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the University.

Dr. Arjun Rama Vasatkar

Dr. Faye Taylor

Faye is passionate about the power of flexible learning to provide access to quality executive education and to connect people globally. She believes in a curriculum informed by strong employability, skills and international immersion opportunities underpinned by robust quality assurance standards and delivered by talented, student centred educators.

She brings over 20 years experience in higher education and over 13 in the design, development and leadership of online and flexible learning to the position of MBA Pro Programme Director.

In previous roles, Faye played a key role in establishing Nottingham Business School’s first ever Online MBA programme, and as one of Nottingham Trent University’s first fully online programmes, also played a major part in the design and establishment of the pedagogical design, quality assurance, HR policies and operating practices of the University’s online programmes before project managing the development of the suite of programmes and then taking leadership of the programmes and associated faculty. This role evolved into that of Nottingham Business School’s Digital Learning Manager in which she was responsible for the strategic visioning and implementation of the school’s digital teaching experiences.

In addition, Faye has her own freelance digital academic consultancy, The Brave, through which she is engaged in a variety of digital education projects and research supervision with prestigious Higher Education Establishments to include The University of London (Queen Mary University/ UCL), London Southbank University and The University of Cambridge.

Her PhD concerned the influence of Political Economy and Interpretations of Sustainability upon the Post Disaster Redevelopment of Phi Phi Don Island, Thailand. She enjoys teaching a breadth of subject matters but particularly Leadership Development, Research Methods, Risk and Crisis and Sustainability and Ethics. One of her most enjoyable academic activities is supervising students on an individual basis as they undertake independent research projects.
