Our Founder
Padmashree Dr DY Patil, a visionary, a political leader, an educator and the former Governor of Bihar, founded the DY Patil group in the year 1983. The institution was established with the core thought of providing quality education to students and developing socially responsible citizens for the country. With a long list of accomplishments and achievements, Dr Patil has always let his actions and initiative be a token of his stance. After accepting his role as Governor, Dr DY Patil has relinquished his responsibilities within the institution, though his vision is the core of our inspiration and guidance throughout the journey.

Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil is the President of Ajeenkya D Y Patil University and Chairman of Ajeenkya DY Patil Group (ADYPG). He also holds various crucial positions in other organizations as the Vice President of the Continental Medicare Foundation and D Y Patil Educational Academy, Managing Director of Trancefx Studios, Trustee at the D Y Patil Education Society and President Ramrao Adik Education Society as well as the Pro-Chancellor of Dr. D Y Patil University at Navi Mumbai. Dr DY Patil has embraced philanthropy as a way of life and constantly leads initiatives that create awareness on social causes such as child labor, female child education, aiding the physically challenged and other such issues. Under his proactive leadership, the ADYPU group has evolved consistently and maintained the highest possible standards of education.

Professor Hrridaysh Deshpande, a veteran educator with over 27 years of experience, is the Vice Chancellor of ADYPU University, as well as a Member of the Governing Body and Board of Management of the University. Prof Deshpande is committed to delivering an ideal model of education. Prof. Deshpande has held various key positions – as the Director at Ajeenkya D Y Patil Group and Grand Port Hospital as well as a Consultant Advisor for the India Design Council – which is a national strategic body of Government of India, under the control of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion.
Prof Deshpande, through his wealth of knowledge, has consistently developed an expertise in Business Innovation Strategy and Design. He has collaborated with many leading companies and helped them transform their businesses through structured practices, appropriate processes and tools. By embracing this philosophy, we hope to accomplish our aspirations as an institution.
